American Made
air gauged Ultra-rifled Quality
The true Douglas Difference lies in our air gauged testing method that guarantees our customers receive a premium ultra-rifled barrel. For over seventy-five years we’ve provided independent customers, firearm manufacturers, and U.S. Armed Forces with superior quality barrels that improve accuracy and deliver consistent results. A premium ultra-rifled barrel will have less than .0001” of variance from the designated bore dimensions. This ensures that each bullet leaving the barrel has more stability in flight and returns tighter groupings. Our barrels require limited break-in periods and deliver more consistent results for more rounds than competing products.

air gauged Testing
Air gauged testing is an innovative way of measuring the bore caliber to measurements to the ten-thousandth of an inch. The air gauge test measures the displaced air within the barrel against the desired caliber size to ensure uniform diameters or possible inconsistencies along the complete length. All air gauged barrels must test within .0001” of the desired diameter to attain the ultra-rifled designation.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why is the carbide push-button method better than other manufacturing methods?
Our inventive industry-unique carbide push-button method does not use subtractive machining to create rifling within the barrel. This helps to retain barrel integrity, create smoother rifling, and improve your rifle’s accuracy throughout the barrel’s lifespan.
-
Who are the most frequent customers of Douglas Barrels?
We have provided premium ultra-rifled gun barrels to nearly every sector of the firearm market from professional F-Class and PRS shooters to U.S. Armed Forces divisions and backcountry hunters. Our barrels are frequently purchased by independent gunsmiths and firearm manufacturers across the world.
-
Are your premium ultra-rifled gun barrels made in America?
Yes! Every single one of our gun barrels is manufactured in our original facility in Cross Lanes, West Virginia by experienced American machinists and firearm professionals.
-
How do you ship custom gun barrels?
All gun barrels are shipped to the lower 48 states through UPS and are tightly packaged with protective material to protect the exterior of your gun barrel during transit. Orders to Alaska and other regions may require a different carrier.
-
Can I order multiple custom gun barrels at once?
Yes! If you are looking to purchase multiple barrels in the same transaction simply order the first barrel to your specifications and add to cart. You can then return to the purchase page to start the same process for any additional barrels you wish to purchase. All orders of multiple barrels will ship together, often in the same packaging.
-
Why should I choose Douglas Barrels over other gun barrel manufacturers?
The primary reason customers elect to purchase a Douglas Barrel over the competition is for the ultra-rifled quality we offer. Additionally, we offer a widely competitive price point, industry-best four-week lead times, and an American-made product. Our company culture strongly reflects our belief in the values of our great country and the Constitution of the United States.
